Color has come to play a very important role in my current work. My backgrounds are worked up through many layers of glazes and are the first consideration when I start a painting. They often continue to evolve after I add subject matter until I feel the composition sings as a whole.

My textile design experience is really coming through in several paintings. I am allowing myself to mix fabric and design elements with interesting forms found in nature married with texture and color.
