Artist’s Statement
I embrace the mysteries and the masterful design of nature through my art. Although the genre is called still-life, my aim is to capture the movement found in natural settings such as rippling water, sunlight flickering through the trees, twisting vines, falling leaves, and drifting clouds.
I strive to capture the essence of a season, a place or a specific natural object with paint. I like to give the viewer the feeling that the painting is alive and changing, like nature; a flower opening, closing, and then dying.
Hopefully my choice of subjects and their settings can serve to remind the viewer of moments in their own fleeting journey through life.
